This week has seen a bit of an adventure as mum has been tidying out her sewing and knitting cupboard.
Following the discovery of an old tape measure we decided to go and sniff out some more.
Our latest discovery is a metal tin about 10cm x 5 cm which she uses for small buttons and press studs.
This is the latest life for this container which appears to have held antiseptic pastilles.
Liverpool Throat Hospital
Unusually for the internet we seem unable to find any information about the company behind these lozenges, The Original Antiseptic Pastille Ltd, or the date when they were sold.
One other curious conundrum is the name Wm Alfred Jones and his connection as late joint proprietor of the Liverpool Throat Hospital. Who was this man and where was the hospital, are questions still to be answered.
Can you add to the story behind this tin and its history? Let us know in the comments area below.
